I was raised by wolves
in a deep, dark forest just outside of Transylvania, where I spent
my days frolicking among the evergreens and eating nuts and berries...
No?
Ok then, onward with the truth:
I love studying,
teaching, and learning anthropology. I received my graduate degree
in anthropology and Latin American & Caribbean Studies from the Department of Anthropology
at Michigan State University.
I received my undergraduate degree with highest honors in anthropology
and linguistics from the University
of Florida. In the spaces in between, I lived in France,
the Netherlands,
and most recently as a Fulbright
scholar in Quintana
Roo, Mexico.
I am also the Coordinator for the Integrative Studies in Women and Gender Certificate Program. I encourage you to check it out! You may already
be eligible for a certificate!
NEW!
I am leading a group of talented, amazing, and knowledge-thirsty
NVC students on a three-week excursion
to Mexico in June of 2009. Want to be part of the in-crowd?
Talk to me about joining the program!
I will SCUBA
dive anytime, anywhere. Let
me know if you are interested in starting a SCUBA Club on campus!
NEW! Those of you interested in adventure volunteer travel in places like Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Australia, Croatia, Ecuador, South Africa, Thailand and New Zealand should check out International Student Volunteers. I am an ISV Project Leader and can help you choose a project and find the cash to make it happen!
I can also
speak, read, and write Yucatec
Maya. If you don't believe me, well then ba'ax ka wa'alike'ex,
nojoch kaaxo'ob?
